Fundación

The Jorge Rando Foundation is a private, non profit-making organisation, whose founders are dedicated to fulfilling in a lasting manner the objectives in the public interest which are laid down in its Statutes.

The origins of this project date back to early 2006, when Málaga painter Jorge Rando and his wife decided to create a cultural Foundation for expressionist art which would help to place the city in which he was born on a level with the leading culture in Europe, and which would also strengthen the ties of friendship and cooperation between countries, intensifying humanist values.

The principal aim of the Jorge Rando Foundation is to study, research, discover and disseminate expressionism, which is one of the most productive spiritual contributions in contemporary Western culture, in the broadest sense: from painting, sculpture, etching, architecture and philosophy to film, poetry, literature, dance and music.

Included in the Statutes of the Foundation is a lengthy list of the people who will be involved in raising awareness of the cultural work it carries out.
